In Cold Daylight By Pauline Rowson Fathom, £6.99

A  KEEN sailor Pauline Rowson launched her writing career earlier this year with two marine mysteries In Cold Daylight and Tide of Death.

The sea is a big draw for Rowson – she says he suffers withdrawal symptoms if she's away from it for too long.

But although her home area of Portsmouth is the setting for the plot, this thriller is dedicated to the firefighting service – and in particular Red Watch, Southsea which Rowson's husband worked in before he retired.

The plot features marine artist Adam Greene on a quest to solve the murder of his best friend firefighter Jack Bartholomew killed in a fire at a derelict building.

If you like this then look out for Rowson's next marine mystery In for the Kill set on the Isle of Wight and due to be published on 5th February next year.
